Every year when I leave for Girl's Weekend, Don gathers the kids together and they make their plans for their "special weekend with Dad". They make their menu for the weekend, go shopping and then plan all their activities. This year, Don wanted to do something a little extra, so they booked a cabin at Zion's camp for the night. The kids LOVED it. Before their trip, they caught the elementary school production of "Puss In Boots" and then hiked and canoed and explored and played. My kids really look forward to this weekend all year. And wasn't he cute to take all these pictures?

k, you DO know how amazing it is that he was willing and actually ABLE to pack up 5 kids and go camping without you? and he took pictures??? impressive, but this is Don we're talking about. he is so capable. hey, you should come to CA more often. he handles your absence so well... :)

A GREAT tradition indeed-a DAD Wkend! Our hubbies & kids down here are lucky to have the other dad's/cousins to hang with during our GW, but it's also a really neat and rare opportunity that Don has that time to spend with them ONLY. And then he goes all out with camping together. Isn't it nice to know your children are in the best hands while you're away?! Makes GW all the more enjoyable. Fun time, fun pics of your darling fam!

That is very cool that Don does that! He's very brave to take 5 kids camping by himself! I hate to even take my 3 kids shopping by myself! And girl's weekend? What an awesome idea! I'm going to have to suggest that to my husband's family; I don't think it would work well with mine, but his sisters would love it! Fabulous! Go, Don! :-)
